They thought they had escaped. They were wrong.
After fleeing the Branch with Sam, Cas, and Nick, Anna is trying to make sense of the memories resurfacing from her old life. At the same time, she’s learning how to survive in hiding, following Sam’s rules: Don’t draw attention to yourself. Always carry a weapon. Know your surroundings. Watch your back.
Then a figure from Anna’s childhood reappears. Is it a Branch setup, or could it be the reunion Anna has hoped for? Uncertain of where her loyalties lie, Anna must fight to learn the truth — before she is betrayed again. Ultimately, the answers hinge on one question: What was the real reason her memories were erased?
Jennifer Rush delivers a thrilling sequel to Altered in a novel packed with mysteries, lies, and surprises that are sure to keep readers guessing until the last age is turned.
Anna and the boys are back!! Yay!
Erased was so far from how I was expecting it to be liked. The answers to the mysteries and different revelations are present on every chapter. And I’m telling you guys, there are definitely a lot of revelations. It was still fast-paced and full of more action. The secrets, betrayals, heart pounding action and a lot of bad-assery are present on the story.
Erased is more about Anna looking for answers. She’s struggling with flashbacks from her past. Why is she with The Branch? How is her family related to them? Will she and the boys be able to get to live a normal life? She grows as much so a character.
We get to know and see more background not only about Anna but also the boys. Sam was still mysterious and stoic as ever. I’m missing Trav and Cass and as for Nick, I so totally knew it! I knew Nick is hiding something deep on his character and I can’t help but see him in new perspective.
I still don’t feel the feels between Anna and Sam. Well, I feel a bit more compared to the first book but I guess it’s still not enough for it to spark a romance aspect for me. It feels like there is this invisible barrier between them that as much as they go sweet and all smoochy with each other, it just doesn’t work out. Well, this book is not written as a romance one so let’s not really dwell on that.
Compared to Altered, Erased have more revelations and things get more complicated because new people entered and the key person for The Branch show up as well. A lot also happened here and it’s just as engaging as the first book. I still feel anxious and wanted to have the answers immediately because as much as the first book provides answers, it still opens up to a lot of further questions. I even find myself doubting who would be trusted or not? Because it feels like every character on the book was sort of a manipulator in a way by being so closed ff.
The Ending was too good to be true. I don’t know whether I should feel relived or anxious about it because guys there will still be a third book and we never know what more is there to know. In all, Erased was an awesome sequel to one of the most action packed series for this year. It has a roller coaster kind of action, it was one thrilling reading ride and I’m excited to see more of the boys and Anna.
